Flood Risk Assessment (FRA)

FRA's are becoming increasingly more common, and Local Planning Authorities (LPAs) are requesting more detailed and complicated calculations for developments near or on flood plains.

Working closely with Hydro-Logic Ltd, Premier Water Solutions Ltd are now able to undertake large and complex tidal and fluvial Flood Risk Assessments, providing a complete water solution service for our clients. We can provide technical models and reports to satisfy PPS 25, the Environment Agency and the Local Authority, incorporating SUDS, flood mapping and mitigation for the proposed development.

Premier Water Solutions Ltd offer expertise in the following areas:

• Demonstrating that the site is consistent with the guidance in PPS 25
• Provide a FRA containing the following information:
________– Whether any proposed development is likely to be affected by current or future flooding from any source
________– Satisfying the LPA that the development is safe and where possible reduces flood risk overall
________– Whether it will increase flood risk elsewhere
________– The measures proposed to deal with these effects and risks
• Designs which reduce flood risk to the development and elsewhere by incorporating Sustainable Urban Drainage Systems (SUDS)
• Identify potential opportunities to reduce flood risk, enhance biodiversity and amenity and protect the historic environment.

Any necessary flood risk management measures should be sufficiently funded to ensure that the site can be developed and occupied safely throughout its proposed lifetime.

Premier Water Solutions Ltd will undertake site investigations, detailed site surveys and computer generated hydraulic modelling of proposed development sites, which is the usual accepted method for the Environment Agency, to achieve compliance.
