The design of the foul water drainage systems needs to satisfy the requirements of the present Legislation, which is currently enforced by the Environment Agency.
The Water Framework Directive is the most important piece of Legislation which has come from our EU counterparts for decades, and came into force in December 2000 and transposed into UK Law in December 2003. It is designed to enhance all controlled waters and their ecosystems and to increase all waters to at least a “good” status by 2015.
